At our first meeting in October, the four founding members of the BRYBC were to decide on a club bird, mascot, what ever you want to call it. We came up with a list of possibilities and 20 or so birds were named. Then we went down the list and if anyone didn't want that to be the club bird, we crossed it off our list. We were down to three: Eastern Bluebird, Red-tailed Hawk, and Great Horned Owl. We did a vote, and all four of us voted for the owl. It was official, Great Horned Owl it was! I want to give a big thanks to Max Nootbaar, who after the club bird was decided, drew a stunningly beautiful drawing of a perched GH Owl for our logo! He brought it to our second meeting, in December, and we produced the logo on business cards, and many more things. His logo went viral! Great job, Max!
