*Always make sure that your feeders are setup within 3 feet of your window, or greater than 30 feet away. This allows the birds a comfort zone that will help prevent window strikes as they come in to feed. It is also important that birds have some shrubbery about 10 feet away so that they can take cover from prey, but not be so close to shrubs that a cat or other predator could jump from the bush.
*Clean feeders regularly to prevent toxic mold from poisoning the birds.
*Provide a water source is also important.
*Only feed natural food to birds. Foods such as bread, cereal and other human foods can be difficult to digest and add unhealthy sweeteners and additives to the birds diet.
